Sharon Lee Danielson Gould died at approximately 7:30 pm on Tuesday September 29th. She died as she lived - with dignity and grace. Memorial Service to be held at Willow Meadows Baptist Church this Sunday October 4th at 2pm.
It is September--already almost a year since Sharon went home. I am missing her, and praying for all of her close friends and family members. I am hopeful that someday when it is meant to be, I will see her again.
After a good year of my “blog avoidance” my persistently encouraging daughter finally won out! Here we go. “Once you choose hope anything’s possible” appeared in my email today. How timely.
Last year I wrote ½ of a book about my life called “Hand-full of Grace: Just Enough and Just in Time”. Yes. It still sits in a file. This year I realized that the discomfort in writing about me has transformed into writing about events of my life which have been miraculously covered by God’s grace and it is He whom I honor in recording it.
There is no better way to start than to start! It is my hope to offer encouragement to others in these Everyday Essays. I especially honor the years of friendships that have upheld me.
35 years as a clinical social worker and counselor, 9 years of widowhood after 29 years of a wonderful marriage, 36 years of motherhood, 7 years of grandmotherhood, 52 years as lover of my pets, 14 years as a breast cancer survivor currently in stage 4, 3 resurrections from death’s door experiences and about 56 years as a believer in Christ. I have walked both close and far from Him. I am convinced by far that close is best.
